Land patents, 1836-1839.

A record that describes land conveyed to the State of Ala. or to individuals by the U.S. Government. Such conveyences originated in Congress for internal improvements such as river improvements and swamps and overflowed lands. Prior to 1943, deeds and leases were also recorded in these books.
